As believers, our Creator designed us to dwell in community with each other—not to exist in isolation, but to sharpen others’ skills and lift each other up.
“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”
—Proverbs 21:17
This ability to help each other grow and thrive in Jesus’ name is a vital element of Christian community. We are called to be part of the process of honing strong Christian character in others and then blessed to find our own character refined in return.
Look around you at work, in class, at church, in your family, and within your neighborhood.
Who are you sharpening, and who sharpens your skills and helps you grow your faith? Ask God to give you opportunities to mentor others and to lead you to godly men and women who can help mold a strong Christian character in you.
